A medical information booklet making complicated health topics easier to digest.

HELPING CANCER PATIENTS UNDERSTAND.

Dr Elisabeth Coyne, a Senior Lecturer in Nursing at Griffith University needed a patient-friendly booklet that helps patient comprehend complex health information. The project was designed to improve the overall experience of cancer patients by providing them with the educational tools they need to make informed decisions about their care. The goal was to create a front cover and two spreads that feel approachable and easy to comprehend. It was encouraged to include some friendly graphics that don't feel too cheery, but help patients understand the content.

I approached this design with the readability and comprehension of the text at the front of my mind. I chose playful colours that would bring attention to the graphics, but not take away the spotlight from the medical information. Very simple and friendly faces were created to represent the thought process that some patients may go through whilst reading the booklet.
